Something Old, Something Blue
This painting is the product of a gift I made for my brother-in-law for Christmas last year. I remember we did a raffle drawing to see who would give presents to eachother and I drew his name.
The canvas itself is a small one, so the painting went pretty fast...although I kind of remember having to rush home after Christmas Eve service to shut myself in my room in an attempt to finish before it was time to open presents. Even so, I am glad I had the stress of the moment to make me push past that roadblock, so to speak.
Anyways...
The pros were: I really enjoyed having the smaller canvas. I could spend much more time on each element and I didn't have to use an easel.
Cons: I HATED doing the top part of the castle.TOO MUCH DETAIL! In the end, as I was rushing to finish the darn thing, I just started making up anything that would work and not referencing the original at all.
I guess it worked out fine though.
What do you think?
